DOCTORAL SCHOOL

From March 14-21, 2024, a second-year doctoral student at the UwS Doctoral School in the discipline of biological sciences, Agnieszka Parapura, M.Sc., completed an internship from the Ceepus program at the Agricultural University of Tirana.

On March 15, 2024, a doctoral student in biological sciences, Pawel Ciesluk, MA, organized an educational event entitled "VII Night with Owls in Ostrow Mazowiecki". As part of the event, Pawel Ciesluk, M.Sc. gave a presentation entitled. "About owls, that is... Biology and ecology, research and conservation methods, as well as myths and legends about selected owl species."

The Eurasian Curlew Numenius Arquata is a charismatic bird species which population is declining rapidly across its European range. Efforts are being taken in many countries to stop this negative trend. On February 9-11, over 100 people from all over Europe (United Kingdom, Ireland, France, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, Poland and Finland) engaged in the conservation of this species gathered in King's Lynn, United Kingdom.

On January 27, 2024, a doctoral student in biological sciences, Pawel Ciesluk, M.Sc., organized and led an ornithological excursion in Ostrow Mazowiecki, as part of the nationwide Winter Bird Count campaign. During the tour, 325 bird specimens, representing 13 species, were counted.
