From October 14 to 17, 2024, M.Sc. Lukasz Domanski, a doctoral student at the Doctoral School of the University of Siedlce, in the discipline of agriculture and horticulture, went on a foreign research trip to the Slovak Agricultural University in Nitra.

During his stay, the doctoral student became acquainted with the current methodologies of experiments conducted at the host unit and the university's research infrastructure. The trip was combined with very fruitful scientific consultations, during which insights were exchanged on the current most important problems in Polish and Slovak agriculture.

The Slovak Agricultural University in Nitra is the only agricultural university in Slovakia. The university is equipped with modern laboratory equipment. The University's complex includes, among other things, a stud farm, a botanical garden, a mini-zoo, and more than 2,100 hectares of agricultural crops on which scientific experiments are conducted. The botanical garden serves as an educational and research facility. It covers an area of 28 hectares, and its collections include numerous species and cultivated tropical, subtropical and temperate plants. Also part of the garden is a pomological collection with hundreds of fruit varieties, an ampelography pattern book and a vegetable pattern book. The Botanical Garden cooperates with 350 botanical gardens and arboretums around the world in the free exchange of seed. In addition, the university has a livestock production that includes more than 500 cows and pigs. Through its production and economic performance, SUA University Farm demonstrates a high level of agriculture. It is equipped with modern technology in crop production using elements of precision agriculture and progressive technologies in animal husbandry.
