Adam Matyszczak, M.Sc., a doctoral student at the Siedlce University of Natural Sciences and Humanities in the discipline of agriculture and horticulture and a chief specialist of the Mazovian Agricultural Advisory Centre, organised and moderated a conference entitled "Internet Platform for Advising and Decision Support in Integrated Plant Protection eDWIN as a tool for digitisation of agricultural holdings" on 20 May in Piaseczno and delivered a paper entitled "A farmer's handy adviser. Practical use of the eDWIN platform and the Virtual Farm".
The conference summarised 3 years of implementation of the project "Internet Platform for Advising and Decision Support in Integrated Plant Protection - eDWIN". The project was conducted jointly by the Provincial Agricultural Advisory Centres (with Wielkopolska ODR as the leading centre), the Institute of Plant Protection-PIB, the Agricultural Advisory Centre, the Poznań Supercomputing and Networking Centre, and financed under the programme "E-government and open government" from Activity 2.1 "High accessibility and quality of public e-services" of the Operational Programme Digital Poland 2014-2020. During the meeting, the tasks performed in the project were discussed and the Virtual Farm application designed for farmers was presented. At the end, a discussion was held on the further development of the applications created in the project and the principles of cooperation between advisers and farmers. The conference was attended by farmers and advisors, as well as invited guests, representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture, the Mazovian Marshall Office, the Social Council for Agricultural Advisory Services and the Warsaw University of Life Sciences. The official premiere of the Virtual Farm application will take place during the III National Field Days in Płońsk (11-13 June this year).
