In the final issue of year 2025 of the journal Global Ecology and Conservation (IF 3.4; 100 MEiN points), an article entitled Early post-release survival and predation in headstarted Eurasian Curlews Numenius arquata was published. The lead author is MSc Przemysław Obłoza, a PhD student at the Doctoral School of UwS in the discipline of biological sciences.
The paper presents the results of research on the early post-release survival of headstarted Eurasian Curlews, as well as the role of predation in mortality, analysed in relation to landscape structure. The study is part of the Eurasian Curlew conservation programme in Poland.
The article was prepared in cooperation with Polish non-governmental organisations involved in the conservation of threatened farmland bird species and with the UMR7204 Centre d’Ecologie et des Sciences de la Conservation in Paris.
