From January 27 to February 7 2025, Patryk Wójcik, M.Sc., a doctoral student at the Doctoral School of the University of Siedlce in the discipline of chemical sciences, completed a research internship at the Institute of Chemistry of Jan Kochanowski University in Kielce.
The topic of the internship was the familiarisation with methods of investigating interactions of transition metal complex compounds with DNA. Thanks to the kindness of the internship supervisor, Prof. Joanna Masternak (UJK), the doctoral student was acquainted with the detailed methodology of investigating interactions of complex compounds with DNA using UV-Vis spectroscopy and circular dichroism spectropolarimetry techniques. The doctoral student was also able to carry out independent research using the compounds synthesised as part of his doctoral dissertation.
