Doctoral student at the UwS Doctoral School in the discipline of biological sciences, Adam Szulc, M.Sc., took part in the 4th National Conference "Inventory and Monitoring in Landscape Parks". The conference was held June 11 - 13 this year in Okuninka and in three eastern landscape parks of the Lublin Province. A doctoral student presented a paper titled "Methods and scope of monitoring selected plant species in the Bug River valley".

During the lecture, Adam Szulc presented methods of monitoring rare and protected species, especially orchids, Siberian sagebrush or royal cocklebur; methods of monitoring populations of forkbeards of the genus Widlicz. He discussed the use of remote sensing and ground-based methods in monitoring natural habitats, and presented the analysis of field data using GIS tools.
