On 7 June 2023, doctoral students in biological sciences Paweł Cieśluk, MA, and Przemysław Obłoza, MA, together with their supervisor dr hab. Zbigniew Kasprzykowski, university professor, took an active part in the 19th Ornithological Meetings in Ostrów.
As part of the Meetings, the doctoral students together with Professor Kasprzykowski conducted field workshops with school children in the Bug river valley, and then gave lectures on ornithological issues during the second part of the event. Subsequently, their presentations were given by:
- Paweł Cieśluk, M.Sc. - a presentation on "Recognition of voices of selected bird species nesting in the Lower Bug River Valley", which was combined with a quiz on recognition of bird images and voices;
- dr hab. Zbigniew Kasprzykowski, university professor - presentation entitled "Reed dwellers, or life stories of bitterns and harriers".
- Przemysław Obłoza, M.Sc., presentation entitled "Eurasian curlew - an endangered species".
