On 31 May 2023, Adam Matyszczak, M.Sc., a doctoral student at the Siedlce University Doctoral School, took part in the European Conference "Maize, a Key to build our Future - Maize as the Plant of the Future", which was held under the honorary patronage of the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development. The conference was held at the Congress Centre of the Institute of Plant Protection- National Research Institute in Poznan. The conference focused on the future of maize cultivation in Europe and worldwide, the search for new solutions and innovations in its production, taking into account environmental protection and the use of maize in organic farming.
The conference featured presentations by guests from France (CEPM, AGPM, Club Demeter, Institute Arvalis, FNPSMS), Belgium (CropLife Europe) , Romania (APPR), representatives of IOR-PIB, IUNG-PIB, the Poznań University of Life Sciences and HR Smolice. Also in attendance were representatives of the industry associations COPA-COGECA, PBZPR, PZPK and Team Europe. At the beginning of the conference, the EU Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development, Janusz Wojciechowski, delivered his message and the Secretary of State at the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Lech Antoni Kołakowski, concluded.
